2011 International Reception

The SEG Annual Meeting Steering Committee, chaired by David Pitcher, hosted an International Reception on 20 September 2011. New this year, this event was designed to recognize SEG's relationship with a particular region. This year's reception focused on SEG's relationship with North America and the Caribbean. Special Global Technical Sessions were added to this year's technical program with topics related to the focus region.

SEG President Klaas Koster opened the event before turning the floor over to Pitcher. Pitcher took the opportunity to thank event sponsors and recognize special global technical session speakers.

Event attendees were treated to a live band playing Caribbean music, a cash bar, and a selection of southwestern themed hors d'oeuvres. This lively event was designed to thank those sponsors who supported the Special Global Technical Sessions travel grants, sponsors of the reception, and to celebrate SEG's relationships in the featured region. Several drawings took place during the reception. Prizes included vouchers to SEG's book mart and items donated by SEG supporters.
